EYE HEALTH

Eye Health Co-Ordinator, Phyllis Tighe, was one of six Aboriginal Health Workers from across NSW to successfully complete the
Eye Care Skills Set run by the Aboriginal Health College within the (NSW) Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council (AH&MRC).
Phyllis received her Statement of Attainment on 18th July, 2007, at the Inaugural Graduation.

Phyllis Dennis-Tighe, and other WAMS staff link their programs to each other to consolidate services to individuals,
families and the communities.  

This program conducts Eye Clinics in the following communities:

  • Manilla

Phyllis Dennis - Tighe

The Eye Health Worker organises meetings with Health Service staff in the communities they cover and arrange School screenings with the Royal Institute of Deaf and Blind.  They also liase with several optometrists to hold clinics in the local communities.

Phyllis is also qualified to provide venipuncture services (taking blood).
